Kristin Hanson Boutique Catering focuses on providing the highest quality food and exceptional service. Full-service catering includes food, service, set-up, breakdown and sometimes rentals. We can also work with special requests for your event.
The initial bid supplied to you is an estimate only. If you are interested in moving forward, we would be happy to schedule a meeting in person to discuss the details of your event. Kristin will be able to deliver a spectacular event exactly to your specifications or consistent with your broadest idea to finish ever detail. Rentals and service staff might require some fine tuning in order to efficiently cater your event to the standards of Kristin Hanson Boutique Catering.
Pricing of your menu will be based on several factors including:
- Time of year/day
- Type of event (i.e. buffet, sit down, cocktail, casual or formal)
- Guest count - smaller volume events tends to have higher per person cost than larger volume events.
- Menu selection - prices for ingredients vary greatly and this will be reflected in your cost per person.
- Labor Costs - chefs, prep-chefs, waitstaff, servers, bartenders
- Rentals - china, glassware, silverware, linens, tables, chairs, equipment, tents, etc.
- Location of event - a destination charge may be applied to events outside the Denver-metro area.
- Prior event relationships
- Taxes - charged on rentals, and menu price per person
- Service Charge - 18% charged on food and staffing, to cover overhead costs such as insurance, kitchen space, equipment, etc.
- Gratuity - Gratuities are optional and left to your discretion. If you’d like to plan for it, typical guidelines are 10-15% gratuity on the food and beverage total.
Basic Payment Policies and Gratuities
A signed contract and deposit of 50% is required to reserve the date. For dates out 6 months or further, a deposit of 25% is required, payment will be collected in 3 installments, final payment is due on the date of the event. All cancellations are subject to cancellation fees.

Cocktail Parties
$15-$25 per guest for passed hor d’oeuvres only
$20-$45 per guest for passed and stationary hor d’oeuvres
Casual Gatherings (brunches, luncheons, summer barbeque)
$12-$40 per guest
Buffet Dinners
$20-$45 per guest for dinner only
Plated Dinners
$20-$50 per guest for dinner only
$30-$65 per guest for dinner and hor d’oeuvres
(staffing requirements are significantly higher for plated meal service)
We are happy to cut and serve your wedding cake free of charge.
Staffing
All service staff is paid portal to portal. Staffing costs are estimates until final billing after the event. Our staff will handle the food preparation, set-up, service and breakdown of your event to an agreed upon state. Our staffing is well trained, professional, friendly and efficient.
Head Chef, Event Manager $40-$25 per hour (larger events may require an event manager)
Prep Chef or Sous Chef $20-$25 per hour
Waitstaff and Servers $20-$25 per hour
Bartender(s) starting at $40 per hour*
Events on holidays or holiday weekends may be subject to time and a half.
Staffing Attire
Our chefs and culinary team dress in pressed white chef jackets. The service staffing team wears all black with fitted KH t-shirts. You can also request the staff dress in more formal or themed attire at an additional cost.
Rentals
China, glassware, flatware and linen napkins - aprox $8-$10 per person
Table linen only - $15-$25 per table
Venues - It is important to know what equipment is included with the venue fee. For example, some venues are only an empty space, other venues may supply tables and chairs. The equipment needed will vary from venue to venue, depending upon the number of guests, and the menu selected.
